Author's Notes

When John Lennon died in 1980, the traumatic childhood experiences which took place 13 years earlier on December 8, l967 finally made sense to me.

Although classified as fiction, the majority of information in the story you are about to read is entirely true. To simply call it fiction would be an understatement. To define it on a further level will certainly be the subject of many a future debate.

About Dan Alice

For the majority of my adult life I have been a composer and a musician. But my choice of avocation took a major turn on December 8, l980 when childhood reminders of a very frightening experience returned to reclaim my attention.

As a boy growing up in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, I idolized John Lennon and The Beatles. Like so many others from my generation The Beatles represented so much more than a musical experience. Perhaps that is why December 8, l967 always stood out in my mind. Sometimes the strangest things can frighten a child, as did the song 'I Am The Walrus' terrify me when I heard it on December 8, 1967 for the first time. The sound of sirens wailing away, people crying, and the voice of someone dying while others desperately tried to save that person were but the introduction to an even stranger series of event to follow in the next 24 hours.

The years of perplexity and wonder that resulted from John Lennon's death and it's connection to this foreboding sequence of events of December 8, 1967 resulted in the book that you are about to read. I believe the entire situation in l967 was an explicit prophecy of a future death. As a child it was all very much beyond me. But as a grown man exactly thirteen years later it all fell into place.

From the time of John Lennon's murder onward I was thrust into a journey of self discovery. One which uncovered many mysterious synchronicities linked to Lennon's life and death. Even when I wasn't consciously searching for information it seemed as though the information managed to find me. It was as if someone or something wanted me to piece this puzzle together. I originally pondered compiling my years of research into a rather lengthy documentary. In the end I decided that it would be best to create a fantasy to secretly expose the truth. However even then I discovered that the essence of the fiction I had written was still very much connected to reality. Leaving me to wonder where does one draw the line between fantasy and fact, and coincidence or fate!
